The challenge
Use member context to shape the experience, then learn from what happens
The platform offers different activities, tools, and incentives. Their relevance depends on a member’s goals, financial circumstances, participation, and connected-account status.
Improving that experience also requires a way to compare alternatives. The product needed defined experiment groups and events that connect an interface change with observable member actions.
The work
Build a richer financial-health profile
Onboarding work captures goals, barriers, savings priorities, and other supported financial-health responses. The application uses relevant answers to shape messages and assign members to supported intervention segments.
Connect the dashboard with member context
The experience brings together relevant activities, challenge information, points, and financial tools. Work on discovery and next steps connects the dashboard with the wider set of opportunities available in the product.
Implement explicit experiment assignment
The dashboard experiments distinguish members with and without connected bank accounts. Supported variants compare the existing experience with redesigned layouts, points-progress presentation, and different challenge-enrollment interactions. Assignment handling accounts for a member subsequently connecting an account.
Instrument the actions the experiment needs to measure
PostHog events record exposure and supported interactions, including dashboard views, challenge actions, account linking, and entry into the assistant. Documentation defines how the team can compare activity within the experiment groups.
What the platform supports
- Financial-health onboarding with goals and relevant context.
- Goal-specific messages and supported intervention assignment.
- Dashboard and discovery experiences connected to member state.
- Controlled dashboard variants and recorded assignments.
- Events for exposure, interaction, and relevant downstream actions.
The result
A foundation for relevant experiences and measurable product decisions
The implementation connects what members tell SaverLife with the experiences they encounter. It also gives the team a defined way to compare dashboard alternatives and examine what members do next.
The experiment infrastructure supports learning as the product evolves; results can then inform decisions about which experiences to extend.
