Connecting savings activities through a custom engagement system

Savings programs need ways to make participation understandable and progress visible. We helped SaverLife develop challenges, quests, points, and redemption within a custom engagement system connected to its member experience.

The challenge

Support different activities through a coherent set of rules

A member may join a savings challenge, complete an activity, earn points, or redeem them for a supported reward opportunity. Each action has its own conditions, but the experience needs a consistent record of what happened and what the member can do next.

As these capabilities developed, SaverLife also needed to bring engagement behavior previously supported by an external gamification platform into its own application.

The work

Model the program and the member’s participation

The challenge system represents enrollment, time-bounded runs, savings requirements, and reward rules. These records connect the program’s definition with what happens for each participating member.

Build points and quests into the application

We helped develop a custom system for players, actions, quests, purchases, and point transactions. Activity completion and redemption connect to records the application can use to present balances and history.

Move established engagement records into the new system

The work included migration paths for challenges and achievements from the earlier third-party system. Subsequent development removed that dependency from the application and continued improving the member-facing experience.

Connect earning and redemption

The product brings activity progress, point balances, and supported Scratch & Save redemption into related flows. Members can see their activity history, while program behavior remains connected to the underlying challenge and quest definitions.

What the product supports

  • Savings challenges with defined participation periods and rules.
  • Quests and activity-completion tracking.
  • Point transactions, balances, and member activity history.
  • Purchases and supported redemption flows.
  • Migration of engagement records from the earlier external system.

The result

Engagement became part of SaverLife’s own product model

The implementation brought activity rules, participation, and points into the application. That gives subsequent product work a shared foundation for recognizing actions and presenting progress.

As SaverLife adds activities, the product can use the same underlying records for participation, points, and redemption.
